Yes...on my Henry BBS Carbine that grip works it's way loose especially after you shoot a few hotter .44 Mag rounds.
You can tighten up the retaining bezel but it still works loose.

So was able like mentioned on here to push the grip back and pull downward at the front and it clears the front dovetail retainer
and the wood expands enough to pop off the mag tube.

Now to add a bit of something to tighten up the fit at the back of grip.

Think I see the real issue which is where,on the left of picture there is a straight across cut and they may have cut it just a bit too short.
This lets the rear part of grip move up and down between bottom of barrel and receiver.
I added 2 narrow strips of black tape to take up some clearance. Will see how that "sticks" after some shots!
Also snug up the 2 retainer screws and then with a heavy copper drift with end taped up tapped the drift down getting a good tight
seat on the grip to receiver fit. Then tighten the screws.

Leave it off and you have an 1860 original of sorts....

I don't know why the majic machine posted 2 pics but there it is. I did a "McPherson Accurizing the Factory Rifle" job on this and one other for end. I relieved the back of the for end about a 1/16th of an inch to where it would just slightly wiggle then roughed it up some so the black silicone would bond to the for end, put it back together and let it sit for a couple of days. This gives me a very precise fit with no wiggle. I imagine you could do the same thing with accugel if you have something against silicone.

The one thing that you need to do is put release agent on everything you don't want the stuff stuck to. I do not think you could get the for end off with out destroying it if you forget this step. Tape the area around the back of the for end also, this makes clean up a lot easier. The best release agent I have found is Hornady One Shot case lube. I will usually apply 2 or 3 coats letting it dry in between coats. After a couple of hours you can use a sharp knife to remove the extra silicone around the edges or wait tell you remove the for end for final clean up. Just remember RELEASE AGENT, RELEASE AGENT, RELEASE AGENT.

Hopefully you solve the "problem" and things will be as they should be. Those little nagging things do tend to drive us a little nuts. Glad you found that.
