So the W could mean Wisconsin made. I think there was somewhat of a big deal/pride in the news about Henry and Rice Lake Wisconsin. The W could be a tribute to that.

My H010 45/70 has: WFFS in front of the S#. I'm guessing it's W: Wisconsin.....F: Forty.....F: Five.....S: either Seventy or Steel.

I'm sure parts for both rim fire and center fire rifles are made in both plants, but I'm confident that assembly of center fire rifles and shotguns is mostly at Rice Lake, WI, while rim fire rifles remains in New Jersey. Henry bought that plant in Rice Lake because they had been contracting for parts there, and, when that company decided to move their main operation off shore, Henry bought the place, to continue the small portion of the business previously sourced by Henry, there. Subsequently, Henry expanded their center fire production to that facility. But my early model 30-30 lever was made in New Jersey. I still like it, though .

Up until at least a year ago Brass centerfire were still coming out of BJ. Got that from email discussions over issues with my Henry rifles.

New here from southern Ohio. I was visiting a gun store today in Gallipolis Ohio . I was looking at a couple of the the Henrys.
The salesman asked if I was from Gallia county. ( Gallipolis is the county seat) I am not, but he showed me the serial # on a Big Boy Steel and it started with GALL. He said that when they order a batch of rifles from Henry they begin the serial with GALL to represent Gallia county. I had never heard of that before. Merry Christmas

Most recent pick up I know of, guys serial on tube feed 357 just has BB#######M. Seems obvious that is for Big Boy, and the follow up “M” is for magnum.

Mine is on the tang from Rice Lake, it says H0120000xxGCCC.
