today we picked-up our latest Henry .... a H110CC Color Case Hardened .45-70 https://www.henryrifles.com/rifles/colo ... d-edition/ .... we haven't had the opportunity to build some reloads for it but hope to do so in the near future .... will post reports

good eye .. .. because we are going to install a scope, our Henry dealer recommended the extension .... having it makes engaging the hammer safety much easier/safer .... it clearly appears to be of the same heavy duty, quality construction of the Henry itself

I was wondering if you were going to install a scope. I have one on all my scoped Henrys.

Case hardening looks terrific.

my eyesight isn't what it once was .... for me a scope is mandatory .... I must say, I've been impressed by Henry's Buckhorn sights .... they remind me of the ones on our vintage Winchester Model 94

thank you sir .... I wasn't sure how the finished product would come out .... our reloads aren't ready so I've fired a few factory rounds .... I was favorably surprised at the recoil, expected it to be stronger

kind words appreciated .... we took it out for a while today and fired some Cowboy rounds along with some hunting power rounds .... have found that ours chambers Hornady® LEVERevolution® Rifle Ammunition ammo with ease .... there is a definite difference in felt recoil between the two .... I'd heard that Hornady cuts the length of its shell casings to where they can only be reloaded with their LEVERevolution bullets .... as a person who reloads, that crosses a line and I'll not buy any more of their ammo .... sometime during the next week or so we hope to put a 3-9 Nikon on it

Nice looking rifle. I would like to see Henry do color case receivers and brass trigger guards on the rim fires.

I am showing my husband some of the pictures on this forum in the wee hours.

He shoots a 45-70 caliber rifle but in another brand. He has an older Made in CT Marlin.

Both of us admire the HENRY rifles and what they have come out with in other calibers now too.

Some will raise their noses at a levergun with a scope, but I think it looks great. Extends the practical range of your rifle as well.
Great choice with the Nikon.

kind words appreciated .... I'm way too old to spend much time thinking about what some other folks might think ... but then, when I was much younger I didn't spend much time worrying about it either .. .. how others outfit their rigs is up to them and so long as its legal, I couldn't care less

I have an H&R Buffalo Classic in 45-70 (I think that might be redundant, but anyway...) and it packs a pretty good kick even with a 32 inch barrel. I guess it is the weight of the Henry and the pad on the stock make a world of difference.

And I noticed the wood checkering on your rifle; it looks very nice. Henry always does a terrific job with that production
