I have started down the slippery slope of reloading, as buying factory 357 ammo for my Ruger Blackhawk is too expensive. Now all I need is a Henry 357 to go with it. I think I need to start one of those "crowdfunding" accounts to pay for it.

I'm wanting to get into reloading. Have a buddy who is helping out with info and what he does, after my upcoming move I will have the perfect setup to reload.
Another buddy of mine has a Henry .357 and loves it.

all tooooooo well understood .... we have the reloading dies and equipment for 357, have been reloading for our son's Ruger GP100's for well over 20 years .... I don't own a 357 revolver nor do I own a Henry 357 .... in thinking about it, I now recognize it is most definitely an issue that needs to addressed ..

I have the Ruger LCR, Ruger GP100, a Rossi 92, and the reloading dies for .357/.38, but I really need the Henry .357. Think the crowdfunding thing would work for that too?

Hello!

It is a sweet and tack driving rifle. You will love to shoot the HENRY Big Boy and you will be able to share ammunition with your other 357Magnum firearms.

I think that sharing ammunition with your other firearms IS a great advantage no matter what type of shooting you do on a regular basis whether you reload or not.

And if you do get into reloading... that will be a big plus for you as it is for my husband. Disclaimer: I do not reload and I never reloaded when I shot a lot of former CF firearms in the past.

PS: My MT husband and I used to own several 357Magnum handguns and a few 357Magnum rifles over the years. My late husband owned only a few firearms in his entire life and HIS firearm calibers were in 357Magnum (Handgun and rifle.) and 22lr (Semi automatic pistol and 2 rifles.). He did shoot some of my guns too. He thoroughly enjoyed my former FIRST GUN in a sweet Glock in 9mm too.

I have been reloading 38 spl for about 11 1/2 cents each using Berry's plated and Unique. I think components are up a little bit but I have not had to buy lately. That is cheaper than gun show 22 LR!

Yes, components are up. I spend something like $14 a hundred for 38/.357. I could shave a little off that by shooting cast, and even more by casting my own. I am settling in on shooting Xtreme 158 grain hollow points over a mid to upper load of Universal. My Henry BB steel really likes that load. I would not have the BB if I didn't reload. Clovispup manages to go through at least 100 .357s every range trip, typically once a week. Add another 75 - 100 .38s through the Model 10 Smith, and a range trip would be getting pretty pricey with factory.

To the OP, If our experience is any indication, you will fall in love with a Henry .357 rifle after a few range trips.

Henry better up there production on the Big Boy .357 Magnum cause I'm adding my name to the list of wanting one.
