Thought y'all might like this. High Caliber Guns in Long Beach, MS
https://hcguns.com/henry-h024-3030-side-gate/
has a side gate 30-30 on display. Note the rack of blah black guns in the background. The Henry adds some class in this pic. Price tag reads $829 and change.
You saw it here first! Fresh off of the truck is a Henry H024-3030 Side Gate lever action rifle. Henry’s Side Gate Lever Action offers up the best of both worlds with a standard removable tube magazine for safe and easy unloading and a side loading gate to keep the magazine topped off. The hardened brass receiver is as reliable as it is handsome with the same yield and tensile strength as steel. The brass accents continue through the rifle with the buttplate and barrel band. Its American walnut furniture is set off by intricate, deep checkering that will ensure a firm purchase on the stocks. A semi-buckhorn rear and ivory bead front sight accompanies a 20″ round blued steel barrel to deliver the accuracy. From whitetail hunting to days at the range, to standing as a favorite show-piece in the gun cabinet, the Side Gate Lever Action is a must-have for any lever action aficionado, and it solidifies Henry as the first name in lever action rifles.

Yea the green one sure sticks out!
The rear rack looks like the AR display rack at a local pawn shop - except the one at the PS is about three times this one.

Nope. I'm on the wrong end of the State. As the name implies Long Beach is right on the Gulf. I'm way up in the NE part. Can't afford it right now, anyway.

That is a lot of ARs. Seems like we may be in a combat zone. But, some people like guns of any type. I have been traditional for the most part. But, the H024-3030 isn't price much different than the H009B. Isn't it?

I think the H024 street price is about $100 more than the H009b, judging by the MSRP of both. Certainly not a big enough difference to deter someone from getting the H024. I suspect the one on display here will be sold pretty quickly. Lots of lever fans in MS due to our typical hunting ranges and game.

That is a lot of ARs.
By the look of them they all appear to be used.
It is my belief the whole 'black gun' craze is on the decline - seeing the sheer number of them used in pawn shops and up for sale on websites.

Yes, I suspect it will not be around for long either. In fact, I have to make some time for mine within the next couple of weeks. I have been trying different rounds in my 1894C. But, I think I may be done with my search. I am hoping to confirm that this week or next.

I wonder IF Henry does expand the side gate into the pistol caliber models if owners of tube load will replace them.
Might be a fair amount of used Henrys hitting the market.

I am one that does not try and fix what is not broken. I have not been much for the latest and the greatest. If it works, I am good. But, there may be a deal to be had on a used Henry. Or, some may just hang on to them as a backup. I don't have too many firearms. So far, I have not gotten rid of any that I have purchased (going on 30 years now).

I've been pondering eventually replacing my H009B for the H024 30-30. Maybe down the road. Not soon.

The H009B here is $819.99 plus $10 background check, so out the door $829.99. I think BigAl paid $829 for his side-gate.

Henry adds class to that shop. The AR market here is really soft they are on shelves everywhere.
