PT7: New H012MAW with SeeAll MK-1 Open Sight

I never thought I would again own a Henry centerfire rifle due to my eye challenges. But finding the SeeAll MK-1 Open Sight changed that. http://henryrifleforums.com/viewtopic.p ... eeall+mk+1 So I took the big step and got a Henry .357 Big Boy, H012MAW model.

l ordered Henry's picatinny receiver rail mount and attached the SeeAll MK-1 sight. Since the MK-1 easily sits above the stock buckhorn, I've decided to leave that iron sight in place. I have a good cheek weld for using the MK-1. Henry's comb is just right for me. As soon as there is a window in the wintry weather, I'll get to an outdoor range to sight in the rifle. Planning to do that at 50 yards.

Sure like the looks of this All-Weather Henry! Although the stock wood is very dark, I can see nice grains running through it. Fit and finish is all-around near perfect on this rifle. Definitely will need to whip the lever into shape; it is NOTB stiff.

Hope to have a sight-in Range Report before too long.
Have a good week, Everybody.

Way to go PT. It looks great. Did a little research on the site. I see how to adjust elevation but does it also have a windage adjustment?

Nice looking rifle. Looks well put together too. The stock is mounted to the receiver tangs cleanly and does the forestock. And of course the pink photo bomb is present too. :P

Hey, Al,

Thanks. I agree that the rifle looks great!

Yes, there is windage adjust on the MK-1. Look at picture #3026.
It is the screw on the side just below the green fiber optic portion of the sight. Kind of a "Where's Waldo" happening.

Clearly, Bob's been paying attention! Can't believe nobody commented on the PAIR I featured in my 45 Colt posting...

Thanks, Mags. It is well put together. Most all points meet quite as they should.
I also like the lock up on the lever...my eye appreciates that close "line" alignment.

Re. the "pink photo bomb...." As Sgt. Schultz always exclaimed, "I know nothing!!"
First, I don't know what the "photo bomb" is.
Second, I'm partial red-green color blind. Don't even see what you see, I guess. :)

Definitely like the two-tone rifle colors!!

.
A photo bomb is as object or person that appears in a picture (intentionally or unintentionally) and becomes an unintended side subject of the picture. A few days ago it was observed that a lot of our rifle pictures just happen to include a pink cloth or towel. At that point the pink photo bomb became recognized and has appeared silently/intentionally in some of the rifle picture posts since then; as sort of a game of 'did you notice my pink bomb?'

Now the Sgt Schultz comment is in the spirit of things so it makes me think you're pulling my leg about not knowing what you did and I therefore just wasted a bunch of typing above. Anyway, you might see it as a greenish towel peaking out from behind your rifle hammer in your last picture showing the lever. It's so cleverly/unobtrusively placed that it makes me further think that you really are pulling my leg; that everyone here is getting a good laugh cause I really can't tell

Beautiful set up. Congratulations to you sir. Which SeeAll sight did you choose, the Delta or the Crosshair?

I added Tru Glo sights to my 357 All Weather and like them so far. But I haven't shot it enough with them yet.

Very nice looking rifle and interesting sight....I’m not familiar with that sight. The caliber choice is great!

Thanks, TNman.

I learned about this sight here on the Forum when Pilsner posted about one he mounted on a Henry. Check out the link I put at my first post in this thread. I got this sight and tested it on a single-shot bolt-action .22LR. Worked out great for me.

Yes, totally agree that the .357 magnum is a very cool caliber. I've shot it a lot both in rifles, mostly in revolvers. Can do a lot with these cartridges.
