Henry Big Boy 357 Model H006M - reassembly of mainspring yoke and seat

I need confirmation that I've reassembled my HBB 357 (Model H006M) correctly. The videos for other HBBs show the mainspring pressure being applied by positioning the mainspring seat in the frame of the trigger assembly (see photo)

When I do that, the yoke doesn't align with the hole in the stock.

On the H006M, it appears the seat is not meant to lock into the frame, but instead ride between the mainspring and the stock, with the stock (when bolted in place) supplying the force against the mainspring.

Is this correct?

Welcome from the Show-Me-State, Leo.

I cannot answer your Q; but certain you'll hear from other Folk soon. Quite a few members have considerable number of years/experience in gunsmith work on their firearms. BTW, nice-looking brass receiver. Look forward to seeing photos of the entire rifle soon!

Yes, your picture shows correct installation. What can happen when the stock screw doesn't align is that the spring assembly has pushed the trigger/hammer assembly slightly away from the receiver if the trigger/hammer assembly is not fully aligned when installed into the receiver. It might help to leave the receiver screws that hold the trigger/hammer assembly a little loose. Then install the stock and stock screw jiggling the part into place. Then fully tightening the screws that hold the trigger/hammer assembly in place. Hopefully this makes sense.

Welcome to the forum, Leo! Look forward to hearing about how this all turns out and to seeing more pics of that brass receiver. What mod(s) were you doing (if any), or was it just a strip-down?

Just a strip-down and cleaning. It's been a safe queen since purchase and decided to make it a shooter. Removed the factory preservative and planning to go to the range sometime soon.
