Hello All, I don't have my rifle in front of me. I have a Big Boy Steel in 357mag. I noticed 3 distinct marks on the right side only of the trigger. They appear to be punch marks of some kind. Can anyone tell me what these are. I thought maybe some kind of a proof mark. Thank you. Pa. Woodsman.

Select to use the Advanced/Preview window to write your post. There is a tab at the bottom of that window called "attachments". Select it, select to "Add Files", upload your picture, then choose to "place inline" and it will appear in your post where your cursor is.

Here is a photo of my BBS trigger, showing 4 circular marks on the right side. I don't know for sure, but I'll take a guess … marks leftover from the MIM manufacturing process?

These are mold marks from the metal injection molding (MIM) process. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_injection_molding

Several other parts on the Big Boy rifles show similar molding process marks, like the fore end cap. It does not affect the function, but I would have preferred if these marks had been milled and polished away at the factory. However it's the price we have to pay for modern manufacturing and affordability.
