Hey guys. First post here. I am the proud owner of several rim fire Henry's. Love the guns and what a great American company. I have had a Henry 45-70 on my mind for about a year now. I have yet to hold one in my hands.
A friend has been waiting months for the LGS to get in an all weather model. He is getting very frustrated waiting as he already missed deer season. I have been waiting for him to get the call because the gunstore has several on order and I would run right down there a grab one. Well I couldn't wait any longer so I went there yesterday hoping they had a regular H010 in stock (been going back and forth between the two models). Nope. Sold the one they had the other day. Been on order, waiting on Henry.
My friend has went as far as contacting Henry to see when the all weathers are shipping out. They promised to update him weekly but so far they have not. I also have purchased guns from Buds in the past and they are out of stock on both models. So right here you got two guys with cash in their hands waiting to fork it over for a sweet Henry. I sure hope they are working overtime!

Im not sure when you contacted Henry or who you contacted. But I can tell you I went thru the same thing looking for a Henry all weather. I contacted Anthony via email and he replied with wanting to know who the gun store was. I sent him that info. It took a few days each time. But he did tell me a distributor would drop ship one to my gun store. Henry eventually contacted the store and it all of a sudden came in one day. This entire process took about 30 days give or take. I have 2 Henry 45-70's the CCH and the all weather. Hope this helps. I think I might try contacting Anthony again and see if they reply. I would explain in the email you have tried before and then wait and see. Keep in mind it might take them a day or to respond but I know they are extremely back logged with new models. Just my .02 cents worth. Al

Thanks. That is the process my friend has gone thru. Still waiting. He will probably be making another call Monday.

Why not sign up at Gunbroker.com? I shop there regularly.

Gunbroker is always an option. I know I can get it for a competitive price without paying shipping or the transfer fee at the LGS when they do arrive. Also I have some credit there. Kinda like to get my hands on it and look it over before I lay down the cash when possible.

I understand that. Buying on faith is going out on a limb.
Shipping/transfer costs can be offset by the savings in sales taxes, though, depending on where you live. I found an FFL here that does the transfers for $5.
I've had very good luck with the sellers, the guns I've gotten were better than they looked in the pictures.

I see this as good news / bad news. Bad that you are having a hard time finding what you want. Good news that a fine company like Henry is having trouble keeping up with demand across the board. So many gun companies are struggling. I see this as justification that Henry is doing it right. Make what people want, Make it at reasonable cost, Make a fine product, Support your customers, Make it in USA!

I waited a good while for the brass 45/70's to come out. I found a beautiful one months later from a dealer at a gun show at a great price. It was worth the wait!

Well, I didn't think about saving the 8% NY sales tax on Gunbroker. What the heck. I just ordered an all weather! I found one for a good price, free shipping and I actually saved 40 bucks. I can tell the wife I saved money by buying it (if I tell her at all). I can use my store credit on optics. Now I wait.

I loove mail ordering stuff, never knew why, just love it.
I used to send in those box tops and get boobie prizes from cereal companies in the 1960s.
Sometimes it was a 2 month wait, I'd forget about it all together, then one day BAM, a surprise in the mail.
Love mail order.

My 45-70 All Weather has arrived. I decided to transfer it to my buddy who has been waiting for months to get one. I will get another. Was not disappointed at all. Very nice gun. We decided it was a he since it will get the job done and not complain (long story). Will have range reports when we shoot them.

Got mine today. I got to hold a standard H010 and an AW. I had to get the AW. I will mention that the date on the inspection tag is 1/5/18 so Henry must be building more 45-70 AW's. My initial inspection and fondling was very positive. I didn't notice any flaws. Fit and finish is very nice. I like the sight and would have been able to shoot it well when my eyes were a little younger. This baby is going to be a keeper.

I have one and love it. I havent got to shoot it enough but when I have I have really enjoyed it. I m still working with it reloading wise and trying to find a load it likes. I have found a couple so far but more testing is needed. Al

Bmur that is a beauty congrats. What attracted you more to the AW than to the H010? Did they feel different? Or was it just the looks?

I liked the standard H010 but I just felt that if i bought it then I would have to get an AW in the future. That could work in reverse though. Pretty sure this won't be my last Henry. Kind of the same problem I have with 1911's

For me it was the looks. As it was when I bought the CCH model. I like the pistol grip style which alot of people dont because its not traditional on a levergun. Kind of like a Henry with a tube feed. It cant be a levergun unless it has a side gate.
