good article .... it pretty well matches what we have found with our CCH 45-70 .... a while back it was reported that Henry was taking a look at adding more calibers in their CCH line but I haven't seen/heard anything lately

I have one and my close friend bought one after seeing mine. I love it and I own Marlins also. But this CCH blows the Marlins in the weeds as far as I am concerned. Even if it tube feeds rather than has a loading gate. Al

in rereading the article, on line jumped out that I didn't notice earlier .... "you step up to the heaviest .45-70 loads. Then the thick rubber butt pad is a genuine blessing — although I dream of equipping the Color Case Hardened Edition rifle with a matching steel butt plate." .... that's not a dream, that's a nightmare ..

I'll bet that recoil pad is worth it's weight in gold. My only complaint with my brass 45/70 is the hard buttplate. I now use a wearable pad.

Nice write up!

Some Henry's are hard to get as it is. I don't mind the loading gate naysayers. Each one is one less person between me and a new Henry!

Had to laugh at the North America comment. Teddy was taking Big African game with a 45/70 over 100 years ago! Loaded with black powder. Doesn't mean it's the best choice. But there are worse choices.
