jeweler's Cloth

Does anyone have experience in just using a plain jeweler's cloth (no polishing agents applied to the cloth or the brass) to rub out finger prints on Henry Big Boy rifles with brass receivers, butt platess, and barrel bands?

Hmm, not sure but I use a very soft, furniture type cloth on my brass, and it buffs it up quite shiny. I don't really use polish, just wipe everything down with the cloth and then spray another cotton cloth with a little Rem Oil and wipe it again. My rifle is not that old, but it gets shot a couple of times a week on average. That's all the care the brass will get and it can age to a nice patina on its own.
Good luck with your brass, I'm sure others have ideas.

I use a jeweler's cloth on a silver badge, it works great. Never tried it on brass.
