Henry 357 hard cast bullet diameter

Post by larry7293 » Wed Jul 19, 2017 10:35 am

For those loading hard cast bullets in their 357 Henrys, what diameter of bullet do you find to work best? 358 or 359 diameter? I have not slugged my barrel.

we've used several different brands and so far as I know they've all been .358's .... they hit what I aim at so I've no motivation to slug my barrel ... we've been impressed with .357 Action! - Hi-Tek 158 grain bullets ===>http://missouribullet.com/details.php?p ... &keywords= <=== we still have a few thousand other brand lead bullets which we will most certainly use but when they are gone our current plan is to exclusively use the ones in the link

How do those semi wadcutters cycle in your rifle?

I've not had good luck with classic wadcutters, some cycled, some didn't .... all other types of bullets (lead and jacketed) that we have tried, have worked well

Jebar, did you mean semi wadcutters? I seriously doubt wadcutters will cycle. I tried a dummy round out of curiosity with predictable no feed results. I run coated semi wadcutters all the time with good results.
There is, I think, humor here which does not translate well from English to sanity. - Sanya

nope ... my comment was an answer to a question asked by Hogstir .... earlier in this thread I posted a link to semi wadcutters .... he asked how well they cycled in our Henry .... my response was to the effect that I'd tried wadcutters and couldn't recommend them, as you noted I had some problems with them cycling .... I can recommend the semi wadcutters in the link, they worked well
