Welcome to the forum. I have several lever guns all matched up with single and double action revolvers. That BL-22 is a sweet shooting 22 that you have. If you decide to reload and are going to match it up with a revolver in the future I would recommend 357/38. I do not think you can go wrong with that round, been around for years and very proven.
Can say anything for or against the 327, never interested me. If you are going to reload the ammo availability would not be a problem. But 357/38 is everywhere if factory loads is what you have to stick with.
Good luck on you're decision

Re: Looking for a new Lever Action
I have a .357 Ruger GP100 revolver. I wanted lever gun so I bought a H006M to match because it just makes sense to be able to feed both with the same ammo. I think the .357 is a good round for self defense as a handgun round and won't break the bank for target shooting (Midway has that caliber for under $0.50/rd). Of course I also have 3 pistols that fire the 9mm and one rifle that fires the 7.62 NATO (.308 Win) so I have my bases covered pretty well for self defense.

Congratulations on your new Henry. I totally agree with you. I have that very rifle and a .357 SAA revolver that I shoot whenever I can, often as much as once a week.Den60 wrote:...I bought a H006M ...I think the .357 is a good round for self defense as a handgun round and won't break the bank for target shooting.
I'm not a particularly wealthy person and I'm also retired, but I do reload .357 magnums at a cost that ranges anywhere from $8.48 to $16.97 per 50 Jacketed bullets, depending on the cost of the components (158 gr. XTP JHPs with Hodgdon H110 are the most expensive). Of course, my reloading time is donated, but I do enjoy the reloading process and think of it as the perfect compliment to shooting, which simply rounds out the sport for me.
