Spring has sprung. Get out and shoot your Henry
A question about capacity (Model X 30-30)

So I know the Henry Model X 30-30 is supposed to be 5+1, but I can load 6 rounds via the sidegate. Do I perhaps have a faulty mag tube, or am I just putting too much tension on the spring?

5 in the tube then chamber a round and then slide a round in the tube. 5+1

Sometimes one can insert an extra round in the mag tube and they work fine. Other times it puts a strain on the spring and can cause jams.
So just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
Just my two cents worth.

Truer words have never been spoken. Recently I loaded one extra in my Henry 41 mag Big Boy and I had one hiccup. Stayed with the recommended amount in the tube and all was wonderful.
