Spring has sprung. Get out and shoot your Henry
Henry BBS Sidegate 357 Carbine
Henry BBS Sidegate 357 Carbine
Well, I just ordered one of these (Model H012GMR). For those of you who have these carbines, what can you tell me about them ? I hope to eventually find a load that is fairly accurate in this rifle and my Ruger revolvers.

Congrats!
Cast or jacketed?
Cast is about all I shoot, several guys on here swear on the 180gr pugnose wfn bullet from Missouri bullet co. over 11.5 grs. of 2400.

Well finding one thats accurate in both is usually tough. But I can tell you 2400 is your friend in the rifle for heavier loads. Especially with the 158gr XTP bullet. Others have and I as well with MCB 180gr pugnose.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I'm tentatively planning on loading lead bullets, purchased or cast. I will load & shoot a few jacketed, but mainly lead for economics.

I'm not familiar with MCB bullets. I am interested in working up some 180 gr loads - as "black bear loads". Overall I'm planning to shoot 158 gr bullets since the 357 was designed for this weight bullet.

Missouri Bullet Company make some good bullets. I have shot them in my 30-30, 357 and 45 colt. I prefer what they call HiTec that are coated.

Have been buying their products for years, 357, 44, 2 different 45 bullet weights and recently bought some for the 25-20.
I have yet to load any those though.
