BBS with 24" Shilen barrel

Post by leverjc » Fri Mar 10, 2023 7:50 pm

FedEx dropped off my rebarreld rifle yesterday. I asked Shawn at Diamond T Rifles to give me as big a circumference on the barrel as he could with it still fitting the for end. I also asked him to try and match the barrel to the action as close as possible with the bluing.

The balance point is about an inch in front of the receiver. I played with it some pulling it up to my shoulder and it seems to feel just a little less barrel heavy than a 92 with a 24" octagon barrel. I will know more when I get a chance to put the peep sight back on and get some off hand practice.

I have 2 '92's with a 24" octagon barrel, the Winchester is a little heavier than the Marlin. ;)
