Henry BBS 44 Mag Done My Way As Usual

Ok Guy's/Girl's

As you probably read on my first post (Tax Time Again, Time for a new Henry) well I have been working on it ever since buy it. I am a shorter fella so I always have to cut the LOP down to 12.5" which I did on this rifle. Bought a used Military style sling for it that was shortened by someone. I had lengthen it back to an original length with some leather that I sewed in. I originally bought a Henry saddle ring, they are good for the 22's but a little small for the BB rifles. While drilling the receiver for the saddle ring I broke the tap off in the hole. Oops, so I ordered a Winchester that took a bigger hole and tap and re drilled and tapped the same hole in the receiver.

So here is what was done.

1. Sling put on
2. Saddle ring ( which I put on all my rifles, yes a bling kind of thing)
3. Marble Bullseye rear sight
4. Cut LOP to 12.5"
5. Wrapped the Big Loop Lever

Rifle fits perfect and can't wait to get it out to my range this weekend.

Very nice rifle project and I like that rear sight too! Yeah I have broke a tap or two over the years and glad you got it out as they can be tough boogers to remove if in deep. Do you reload 44 Mag?

The tap was a very small tap don't remember the thread size, but was for the Henry saddle ring which is thin. I used a punch and broke it out of the way smaller hole than the Winchester saddle ring.

I do reload 44 Mag but I can not find primers locally so I won't be reloading till they start coming back in stock. Right now just buying factory 44 Mag that I will use to sight this one in and been using in my Winchester 1892 also in 44 Mag

Thanks for the reply Guy's

Looks good, hope it shoots as good as it looks.
I've added a saddle ring to my little H001.

I like that saddle ring a lot better than the Henry made saddle ring for sure. Looks great and to me just for looks and kind of a throw back a lever needs a rifle ring even if not used.

I sure like the width on your lever wrap, that looks comfortable. Good looking overall.

Hatchdog,
Thank you. I usually use leather to wrap but ran out so I used this paracord. Does not look traditional but it is comfortable.

Do you know which one you installed (part number?)

I'm sorry, I can not answer that question. You know I did not realize they even made them different than a long or short style. For my Winchesters I have the short style. For my Rossi 92 I have the long style. I would call Marbles and ask them which one that you actually need. I buy all mine off of ebay. You think with 6 different lever rifles with that sight on them I could tell you, but can't

Your way is my way too. That just looks fantastic sir. Great effort on your part.

Where pray tell did you get the saddle ring and how is it installed?

Again, looks great.

They have a very nice variety, I just checked 'em out.
