Feeding issue with my 357 Henry yesterday...UPDATE !
Had my 357 CCH Henry out for some plinking and a problem developed with the last round feeding into the action. All rounds including different bullet profiles would feed until the last round with that round looking like it was pointing downward or not fully into the lifter.
I'm think a weak mag tube spring and it does feel rather weak when pushing it down first couple inches. Will make up a few dummy rounds and try it again safely. If last one hangs up I will remove mag tube spring and shim the length of one round and see what happens. If it feeds last round then I will call Henry CS about a new mag tube. Other than that it was shooting very well!

forty, I don't recall when you bought that rifle, but, the tube spring shouldn't be weakening this quickly. Hopefully if you need a new spring, Henry will send you one.

There were older posts about this. I searched for "last round feeding". There maybe some helpful info in the posts on page 3 and 6 of the search results.
Some quick pts from them.
Anticipating the last round the lever gets short stroked and/or receiver tipped to the side to look into the ejection port to see if the last round has been shot.
Another dealt with a very dirty gritty mag tube behind the follower.
Another got a replacement mag tube from Henry.

Well I made up some dummy rounds and working the lever like normal the last round will dive down instead of going into the chamber. This is with rifle in normal firing position. Then you have to take a small screwdriver and tap the round back out of the mag tube opening in receiver. The nose of the bullet is hung up trying to tilt down and this puts a gouge or burr on the bullet.
So I removed the plug end of mag tube....note that pin comes out only one way... and made a 1.125 length plug to preload the mag spring to see if that would help. Put it together and made couple more dummy rounds since others were damaged. Result was it does the same thing.
Will call Henry CS tomorrow. When you work the lever down and back up the lifter looks to work as it is supposed to as in the slightest move up the lifter pops up. This is with no ammo. Just thought to try a simple test but that isn't it.
The thing worked fine the last time I had it out. Sprayed a bit of Ballistol around the lifter area but that didn't help.

Just called them at 3 PM EST and they will send out a new mag tube for me to try. I will remove the bolt and see if any dirt is in there and clean it and look for any burrs. Stay tuned!

Strange that it worked perfectly the last outing then this arises.
Hope the new mag tube fixes it.
never seen that with either of my CF Henry rifles.

Yes it is strange. Same bullets as before. My X45 and the other CCH 45 Colt work fine.

That is a strange problem. My 357 BBS has quite a few rounds through it and shows no feeding issues. Hopefully you can get it worked out.

Re: Feeding issue with my 357 Henry yesterday...UPDATE !
The new mag tube/spring assembly came in over the weekend and fixed it right up. It was noticeably stronger than the old one.
Great CS Henry has!
