Welcome to the forum from Michigan. That is disappointing to hear about your new rifle. I had an issue with my 357 front sight dovetail. Henry sent me a shipping label next day and I had it back with a new barrel in 5 days. I couldn't fix that problem but I can understand you wanting to take care of your issues. I hope it shoots well for you.

I took it out to the farm today and put 30 rounds through it. 100 feet, sitting position, 6" steel plate, so I still have no idea how accurate it is, but it is a delight to shoot. Very little recoil, and the gold bead front site is easy to see.

If you are hitting steel, it is not bad!

Well, 6" steel at only 100 feet. Not much way to miss.

About 35 yards? Of course, you could use paper. I suspect that you were more concern with hitting something. Kinda like hitting a Coke can from a few feet away. When you hear the metal being hit, smile seems to come on the face, which is good enough to call the shot accurate.

No, I was more interested in whether the ammo would feed and fire. It was the first time the rifle had been shot. I didn't have any paper, but the steel was already in place and made a convenient target, albeit too large to miss.

Well, I guess that is was a good day? In the past, I have used cardboard as a target, of whatever was available. It did not have to look pretty, just work. My drawing is not the best, but I could still measure the shots. So, it was all good.

I decided a long time ago that any day that has me in it is great.
So yeah, it was a wonderful day.
And I really like this gun, though I like my grandson's Golden Boy better (much smoother action and slightly crisper trigger)
Gonna shoot it some more today, probably at coke cans.

Hopefully so. I looked all over the Memphis metro area today for some 158gr .357 ammo.
Finally found 70 rounds for $109. I'll take my time searching for more......
I'll take it out to the farm this weekend and try it out.
So... I assume your around the Shelby county area?
I'm just up I-40 a piece, Madison Cty.
