New BBS 357 barrel

Post by leverjc » Tue Sep 06, 2022 4:27 pm

I just sent off my side loading BBS to have a 24" Shilen barrel fitted. It will have a fairly heavy profile. I can hardly wait to shoot Lever Silhouette.

yep, there is no doubt about it ..... I always have been and continue to be way our of the loop ....until this thread I'd never heard of a Shilen barrel .... that motivated me to do some research .... to put it mildly, I'm impressed .... thanks for starting this thread .... I'm looking forward to your continued reports after you start sending rounds down range

I certainly would like to see Henry have a custom/special order department. Where I could order a rifle with a longer barrel installed by them. Pistol caliber barrels up to 24 or more inches, rifle centerfire barrels up to 28 or more inches, and 22 rimfire barrels up to 24 or more inches long . . .

I think it would be great if Henry had a custom shop. A Big Boy with a 24' octagon barrel with a deep blue would be awesome. I wish I could have put an octagon barrel on mine but the price would have been out of my reach even if I could have found someone to do it.

If "custom/special order", work is done by the original manufacturer, [before it is completed and shipped]. I believe it could be kept at a lower cost than some, custom gun shop in the middle of nowhere, [ just my wild **** guess] . . .
