My BB .357 Carbine dressed up!

Post by Retlawman » Tue May 31, 2022 7:04 pm

Hi all,

My Brass Stacker accessories finally came in. The lacing on the leather lever wrap was a PITA, but I think it turned out OK. The sling is made of really nice leather. The cartridges fit well. The hardware is top notch. I did think it was going to be a bit longer for maybe some tactical use. I can wrap my arm around it (stabilizing hold) when shooting from the shoulder and I actually put in the shortest hole for that. It's designed only to be carried strong side with muzzle facing up. I guess you could carry it across your chest for long hikes in the woods. Not a defensive carry though! Very happy overall!

One thing on the leather bullet slots. Don't leave the rounds in it very long. They really turn nasty with that leather and brass after awhile. Shoot them and replace after a while.

Not if it's vegetable tanned leather, which you'd have to check with the maker to find out.

Brass Stacker leather

Post by Retlawman » Thu Jun 02, 2022 3:28 pm

Email response from Brass Stacker regarding their leather:

All our products are made from veg-tanned American leather. Veg-tanning uses natural products to tan the hides and leaves no potentially corrosive residue often found in chrome-tanned leather.

We use top-grain leather which means that the fibers of the leather are tight and uniform with little or no marks on the finished side.

All the leather has been drum dyed at the tannery to give a deep and consistent color.

A finish sealer is used to set the dye color and offer some water resistance.
