My set screw on my rear sight fell out, now I have two screws!
Hi,
Well like an idiot. I decided to play with my rear sight and see how it works in case I need to adjust tomorrow at the range. I had it on my lap and not on a table like I should have. Anyway, I turned it too many times and it fell out onto the carpet. I initially only found a longer phillips screw. Then I found the smaller set screw. I placed the smaller set screw back in and tightened it, but now I have this longer phillips screw and I have no idea where it goes. I can't find any holes anywhere. I am totally baffled. I actually vacuumed today, so I doubt its from anything else. Anyone know?
Thanks

Re: My set screw on my rear sight came out!
OK, here is the actual set screw (on the right) that I reinstalled. I've watched a couple of videos with rear sight removal and the Phillips screw did not come from rear sight. Could this be from something else? It does have blue loctite on it that Henry uses. I have never removed another screw sitting on the sofa. WTH? I'll contact CS tomorrow and see if they know what it could be. Thx

Not sure but is it from the for end cap ? The one you show with the soft case you just purchased.

Forend cap.
Not a Henry but, still the same, even though I believe on most they are a flat head and not a Phillips.

Ha, I thought he meant the case. Thanks. No my forend screw is also a flat head and 3x as big. Also, I dont see phillips screws anywhere. I'm still taking it to the range and waiting to hear from Henry. Thx

Have you tried looking at the parts layout in the owner’s manual yet:https://assets.henryusa.com/uploads/202 ... Manual.pdf
Maybe, a screw worked itself loose? From what I recall, you have taken the rifle a part for cleaning and cycled a few dummy rounds.

Thanks, but I can't find this tiny Philips screw listed. I did get an email back from Henry. Tech stated he did not recognize the screw and that it does not belong in their rifles. I looked through the complete disassembly video and it showed nothing. What a coincidence! The rifle did function fine today at the range, minus the scratched up stock!. I fired 100 rounds. Thanks guys!
