Practicing with some AZoom snap caps.

Post by Retlawman » Sun May 22, 2022 4:40 pm

Hi

I have not had a chance to hit the range yet with my be .357 BB Carbine. So, I decided to practice loading, dry fire and working the action. I think everyone should do this if they aren't familiar with a new platform before live fire. I decided not to wrap my thumb around the receiver because it was slowing me down. This isn't natural to me and will take some time. I do need to place three fingers in the lever. This feels best. I've seen some cowboy use two fingers on the lever action and keep their trigger finger stays basically inside the lever during rapid fire. They do seem to have a shorter stroke, maybe 10". This I definitely can't do. It just feels unsafe to me.

How do you work the action and trigger? Thanks

I put a larger lever on our Henry 357 and operate it with 3 fingers in the lever

Same here (but no big loop), I typically have three fingers in the lever.

Actions speak louder than words (Matthew 7:16-20).

I have the Large loop also,
Three fingers and I do not angle my stroke in the downward swing. Large loops work best when you slide your hand forward and back in the loop.
