First outing with BB X 45 Colt

Post by Rob96 » Sat Mar 19, 2022 6:21 am

Yesterday I got to hit the range with my new Henry. Loads used 250gr Lasercast over 9grs. Unique, 255gr Missouri SWC/9grs Unique, Missouri 255gr SWC /True Blue 9grs, 250gr XTP over 9grs Unique and factory Corbon 300gr JSP +P.

Started at 25yds to get my Sig Romeo 5 on paper. Then moved to 100yds.
The Corbon you knew you were touching off something special and yes they did cycle at 1.65"
The XTP proved to be very accurate.
The loads with True Blue were anemic and shot really low. next time I am going try 12.1grs.
The SWC loads with unique shot very well.

With the red dot at 100yds, shots were in the kill zone. Can't wait to get out again.

Congrats on getting out with the Henry.
What was the Red dot load? It's not listed.

Nice combo/load testing Rob96. I haven't gone over 8.5gr Unique in my .45 Colt's. But, they're accurate. Out at 80 yards, they're smacking those steel gongs. Desert shoot coming this Tuesday. Fun! Congrats on getting out with the Henry. Or any .45 Colt for that matter!

Yep 9 grs. Unique works well with 45 Colt 250 gr and also .44 Mag with 200 gr. bullets. Have a bunch of those loaded. Congrats on your new Henry!

If you have any HS-6 it works well in 45 Colt. Congrats on the new Henry. Enjoy.

No HS-6. Ordered what i could get. I do have H-110 to load for the XTP's but still on the hunt for magnum primers.
