I was tempted by the price, but a 30/30 is kinda useless here in Ohio
I don’t hunt. All my guns (especially my rifles) are used for/in competitions. We have several “woods walks” here in Michigan, some specifically for lever guns. I use my 30-30 to know the snot of steel plates out to 80 or so yards. Both hand loads (reduced loads) and factory.

There was a Henry steel 30-30 in the store the other day that was manufactured at the end of January 2022. It was priced at $729 and did not have a side gate.

I bought my Axe at 15% off MSRP which surprised me because they are so scarce. I think maybe the discount is because the ammo is even more scarce.

I was recently in a store that had 4 Henrys, the most I've seen in one spot in quite a while.
They had two single shot shotguns, a golden boy, and the reg. 410 lever, it was $799.
I didn't look at the others.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

yeah, I have been looking for a 45lc and 357 big boy x. I found an LC put up with a by it now at retail and bought it a few weeks back. I have yet to find a 357 not 350-400 over retail, some are higher than that. Sorry, I have no interest in paying that kind of price.

That is about what I paid for mine in 2017, and it was a 2015. Did I get robbed? I did not think so. I believe MSRP was $850 or so back then. Yet, it was still more than I wanted to pay. But, it had a nice finish. So, I took it home. No regrets. Shoots any 30-30 ammo that I put in it well. So, all is good.
