I have not hunted with mine yet, but would not hesitate to use it for Deer within 100 yards.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I have hunted with my 6.5 inch Ruger Bicentintial model Blackhawk. I have killed several deer and I don't remember how many hogs. Furthest shot was some 60 yards. I used mainly 160gr. hard cast boolits. Dead is dead. Put the boolit tight to elbow and enjoy the tenderloins over the camp fire.

Killed deer and coyote with a 4"barreled Taurus .357magnum at about 60 yards.
Deer out to 125 yards with a lever gun in .357.

Ozark, I’ve taken 2 white tails with my 357 BBS Carbine. Both were about 60 yards. 158 grn hollow points. They never made it 50 yards from point of impact.

I consider it a very easy close range rifle.

Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

I took a doe this last year with my Dan Wesson 715. The 180-grain load put her down very nicely.

If I can pick up a threaded lever action 357 somewhere near MSRP, I will hunt with that this year.
