Mare's Leg re-do.
On another forum, this fellow in Canada uses a Mare's Leg in .44 mag for hunting and in camp against any bears that wonder in. But, he mentioned he couldn't handle the short stock. So, he ordered a regular BB stock for it. Said he loves that set-up. Don't think it's legal for hunting here[U.S.], but would make a heck of a camp defense firearm, not to mention for home. Thought I'd pass that on.

Putting a full stock on a Mares Leg turns it into an SBR and you would have to file paperwork plus 200 bucks and a long wait to make it legal in the USA.

Forty hit it right on the head. Every bit of it.
Now it would be cool, but not that cool.

Plus all the legal hassles and risks if you want to transport that SBR to another state. Which is kind of the definition of “camping bear defense”. BTW I have an X and while the short barrel is very cool, I would not mind it being 6” shorter with a fat can on the end…. Or better yet an integrally suppressed barrel But I will never buy a silencer until they are unrestricted.

Yep. Stupid regulation/law imho. And will get worse if the ATF get's their way:fortyshooter wrote: ↑Wed Jun 30, 2021 6:48 pmPutting a full stock on a Mares Leg turns it into an SBR and you would have to file paperwork plus 200 bucks and a long wait to make it legal in the USA.
