3 Big Boys at the range

Post by Mgderf » Mon Jun 28, 2021 9:56 pm

On fathers day my extended family held our annual "shootout" at my brothers house.
He has a 50 yard range in his front yard

My two brothers and I had a chance to try out our new Big Boys.
We each got one in the brass receivers in .38spl/.357mag and large loop levers.

Three identical rifles, aside from the serial numbers all on their maiden range appearances.
None had been sighted-in yet, and we didn't worry about that at the time.
Too many kids wanting to "shoot this one next uncle Derf..."

I love these shootouts.
We burned through somewhere near 2k rounds shooting at dueling trees, sporting clays, splatter targets, spinning paddles...
ending the day with a few small Tannerite-laden targets (for the kids)

I'll get the new Big Boy back to a quiet range session soon enough for a proper sight-in.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Nothing noted, but we weren't really wringing them out.
More of an extended function check.

Sounds like a fun day for sure.
The 357 out of a rifle is just a Hoot!
