After spending too much time researching the interweb for a 45-70, I finally scored one today. Absolutely beautiful! Unfortunately, all my 45-70 ammo is at home in Wyoming, and I am in Arizona for another month, and the store where I bought the gun didn’t have any big 45 caliber boolits, so I probably won’t get to shoot it for a while, but at least I have it.
The gun was priced under retail, so that was very refreshing during these times of price gouging. All in all, a very good day!

congrats on your new 45-70 ... ours has proven to be one heck of a rifle .... hopefully you will be able to find some ammo

Congrats on the score.Several guys on the forum have one and say they are accurate.
I myself don't own one, but...
I am the proud owner of a pair of Marlin 444's.

Might come that way in a couple years dunno yet. Trying to find something down there is a tough choice. I have Grandparents buried in Tucson and I am famliar with that area.

Congratulation on 45-70 I recently score a H009G 30-30 and now looking for a 45LC but the ammo and reloading supplies are harder to find then the firearms.Good luck finding some ammo for yours.

Just got off the phone with Steinel Ammunition. He said he is 4-5 months out on 45-70, and 2-3 months on 30-30. Crazy!
