Re: A 3rd Henry
If he's anything like the rest of us Henry lovers who have shot a Big Boy for the first time, I'll bet your little hunter will want to try some magnum rounds after about two or three loads of 38spec - just to hear and feel that magnum "blast". He's going to love that rifle - but I bet you are going to have more fun just watching him hold and shoot it for the first time...

Re: A 3rd Henry
its been a long time since I've been so hyped up with anticipation over seeing someone receive a gift .... we did go through similar times 25+ years ago when we went through a similar process with our sons .... they still have their first youth shotguns ( 20 ga pumps), first pistols (Ruger semi auto 22's and GP100's), first target 22 rifles (Ruger 10-22/s), first adult shotguns (Remington 1187's), and first hunting rifles (Ruger M77 carbines 308's with stocks cut down to youth levels) .... since then they have bought others and will hope to add to their collections in the futuretractortad wrote:I'll bet your little hunter will want to try some magnum rounds after about two or three loads of 38spec - just to hear and feel that magnum "blast". kind words from everyone are appreciated .... my grandfather hunted, my Dad never did .... the memories I have, as a young boy, of bear hunting with my Grandfather's hunting club, rabbit hunting with his friends, and walking the woods squirrel hunting are very dear to me .... the only guns ever given to me were left to me by me by my Grandfather ... none are fancy, all are pure hunters with a rich (to me) history .... my hope is those from my Grandfather, those I have given to our sons and daughter, and those given to our grandson will mean something to them down the line

Re: A 3rd Henry
a few pictures :
earlier today I went to WalMart looking for a case for the Henry 357 we are going to give to our grandson on Friday .... I wasn't pleased with the ones they had in stock but was surprised to see that had 1 Henry GB 44 Mag, 1 GB 357, and 1 Henry 22 in stock .... from there we went to a local gun shop where we found a Henry Rifle Case .... while it was considerably higher priced, it fits the rifle like a glove so we decided to go with it .... also pictured his Uncle Mike's ammo pouch
