New Henry Big Boy missing rear sight elevator
Bought a H012G Henry Big Boy Steel in .44 Magnum last week. While reading about adjusting the sights I found out the rifle did not come with the rear sight elevator for adjusting the sights. I just emailed Henry customer service.....hopefully I'll hear back asap.

Is this a common issue? I won't be shooting it for a while. I'm going to look at a Henry .22lr tomorrow, guess I better make sure that one has the elevator.

I bet it fell off during shipping. I take it you searched the packaging. Henry will take care of the problem.

Re: New Henry Big Boy missing rear sight elevator
After finding it was missing, I looked through the box and it was not there. This is my first lever action, so I guess I overlooked the missing part while checking out the rifle.

Re: New Henry Big Boy missing rear sight elevator
No doubt Henry will send it right out. That is one part that was probably left off when built. No one noticed at the factory. They are pretty stiff under that spring loaded sight. They are the best in the business at customer service, even though they build good stuff they still have warranty problems just like everyone else does. I have had to send two Henry rifles back for barrel problems. One the barrel was replaced and back within two weeks and the other they replaced the whole rifle and had it at my door in a little over a week. Great service, but should not have been needed.

Welcome, and sorry about your situation. As others have pointed out, Henry will address the situation. As an option, are you considering possibly replacing the sight? I totally understand wanting to have all the original pieces. For me, I replaced my buckhorn sight with a Range Point Precision Cloverleaf optic sight, which required the removal of the buckhorn sight. Others have installed Skinner sights or scopes. If you are considering such a thing, it might be a good time to move forward. Just a thought. At any rate, I believe you will enjoy your new Henry. I enjoy mine, H009. Nonetheless, happy shooting!

Steve, welcome to this group of jokers and enjoy that new Henry. I use scopes on mine but regardless I wouldn’t want a piece to be missing. Have fun!

With a kinda embarrassing boo boo like that, Henry will probably send you some stuff with the elevator. They like to keep their customers happy.
Re: New Henry Big Boy missing rear sight elevator
Since I have only owned my new Henry Big Boy Steel Carbine for a week I went to look at the rear sight. Mine doesn't even have a ramp, or a cut out pf the rear sight leaf for it.

Re: New Henry Big Boy missing rear sight elevator
I got an email from Henry CS today.....elevator is on the way.
I may try a Skinner sight down the road. I suffer from aging eye sight disease.....need cheaters to read, etc. But, I shoot several milsurp rifles M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, 1903A3, K98, etc....so I’ll see how the Henry shoots before deciding on changing sights.
