Advice on scope mount for Long Ranger?

Newbie to Henry and looking for advice on good scope mount for either a 30mm or 1 inch tube scope (haven't bought it yet but looking at a couple of Vortex models). I see the Henry store has Talley 1" rings that mount flat to the top of the Long Ranger, but I have been unable to find rings for 30mm scopes. Any advice? Are most Long Ranger owners using Pic rails and mounting rings to those?
Thanks in advance.
Tman

Those Talley mounts are hard to beat and if it was me Id do the one inch tube with that mount. I dont have a LR but I have a bolt gun in 338 and sure do like the talley mount.

I recently picked up some 30mm Talley "extra" low mounts from optics planet. Talley also sells them on their website as well. I put a 3-15X 42 scope on my Long Ranger in 223 and it fits no problem...except for maybe eye relief is tight. I'm going to post some pics maybe tonight as I had to change out my stock as well.

PLR: thanks and yes could you post pics? I think this is what I'm looking for. I called Talley after my first post and they pointed me to the 30mm rings on their site. (what brand scope do you have?)

I have a SWFA 3-15X42. I'm trying to figure out how to post pics...I don't usually a third party hosting site and I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to get them on here.

Let's see if this works

That second image the scope looks closer to the barrel than it is

Great... and that is with the extra-low Tally's?

Yes extra low. The problem is the back and forth, or eye relief. Which Vortex were you looking at? I have a Diamonback tactical 6-2x50 But I doubt that would fit with the extra lows.

Was looking at the Diamondback Tactical 4-16x44 (FFP). But to start out, i might just go the cheaper route and get the regular Diamondback 4-12x40 (SFP). It has a simpler reticle which appeals to me right now until I can get out and shoot a lot and understand better what I"m doing.

EIther one will be good. Liberty optics is a great resource for Vortex. really good prices and a good guy.

I just got it. Haven't even shot it yet. I just added another post about how it came with the Butt stock cracked. So I just replace that a few minutes ago. Hope to take it out Monday.
