Oh, it's more like if I happen to see one in a LGS, pawn shop or at a show.

Not really 'actively' looking.

Oddly most of my guns have come to me this way - interested in something but not looking - and then one shows up - but I have passed on many I was interested in (like the Navy) and typically what I am interested others are as well so it' s usually slim pickins' for me.

Another example is I am looking for a Mod 60-4 in 3" with adjustable sights. Again I passed on a very nice one several years ago in a pawn shop and a kinda sorta nice one fairly recently - but it had issues. It had come from Alaska and the non- stainless parts (trigger & hammer & sights) had some surface rust that had been cleaned off but they were stained.

Even the rest of the gun, while stainless had a dull finish and would have needed a polish job to bring back to normal.

Maybe they will hear your 'desire' to have one and facilitate a transfer of one to your LGS.

One of my 'Additional Duty Assignments' for the company I work for is that of Last Ditch Negotiator for a variety of issues.

Occasionally company Ownership/Management will come to me as an 'unbiased' voice to deal with a problem and will outline me with the details and ask I do my best to resolve the problem even though it is not necessarily in my department.

One of my premier attributes is that of verbal communication and I use it to the best of my abilities.

Sometimes I can resolve the problem, sometimes it requires a 'trade off' and sometimes it costs us money.

If it were me I'd have that Henry on the way on the next business day!

Another point in favor of the .45 Colt is that the necks on the 44-40 cases are soft and must be kept trimmed to the right length or during reloading a lot of cases will be ruined.

I was able to find a 45LC at a Sportsman’s Warehouse in the DC area. Should be here by 4/27. We’ll see.

I’ve bought 90% of my guns from KY Gun Co but right now they do not have it in stock per their website and they are not responding to inquiries. I prefer KYGunCo as they are only 30 miles from me and great to deal with. I ordered it from Bud’s online and the order sat there for a week in “in processing” mode and now their site says out of stock. I will contact Henry if Sportsman’s Warehouse doesn’t produce.

Henry New Original 45LC arrived today. Sportsman’s Warehouse came through as advertised. Ironically I received emails from both Bud’s Gun Shop and KY Gun Co saying they had the rifle available now. Now if this rain would just stop so I could get to the range. Thanks for all the help in picking a caliber.

Congrats on the new rifle. I have that in 45lc also and it shot great right out of the box. I never had to touch the sights.

Deacon, we're practically neighbors. I live in the Bardstown/Etown area. . I have a Big Boy in 45 Colt, two of them, actually. One is a CCH receiver, and the other is the plain blue receiver. The 45 Colt is a fun caliber to load and shoot; I used my CCH to take a buck and a doe last fall.

The only thing I would say is, I'd feel shortchanged if I was your granddaughter. Henry vs Glock is not a fair trade.
