I prefer the classic straight stock LOOK and FEEL in rifles more than the pistol grip.

I prefer shooting straight stock rifles more too.

I think that the pistol grip stocks are better on rifles with a heavy recoil. I had a Winchester 71 for many years and loaded my own ammo and shot it a lot. The .348 WCF is a stout load but with the pistol grip stock it wasn't bad even though it had a steel buttplate.
