As to the concern that the load will beat you to death from the bench, I've found a Caldwell Lead Sled works very well at dialing in accuracy - regardless of the load and caliber - without beating ones shoulder to black and blue.

It's surprising how far we can hit with using issue iron sights. Before I put Skinner sights on I'd just hold up some front sight & it'd get me to very long range.

I have been following Iraqveteran8888's videos for years now and he is a great guy, a gun shop owner and he has a pretty large following on youtube.
Lately he has been getting away from the AK/AR type guns to the more traditional stuff. He has some really great video's with a few how too's also.
