Trigger pull

Most of my Henry levers have pretty good trigger pulls with the exception of a X-Model .357. The pull was just over 4 pounds which I could live with but it had lots of creep. I ordered a Ranger Point sear and spring kit. I watched the video a couple times and the whole process took about 10 minutes. It was successful. RP claimed a 3.5 lb pull if the original spring is used and a little less with their spring. The pull registered right at 3.5 lbs with my RCBS gauge and was crisp and clean.

I'm not real handy at posting links but just go to Ranger Point Precision and go through their menu. While you're at it I'd suggest the take-down screw also.

Good info, thank you. I’ve never noticed the trigger pull to be other than average but I’ll pay more attention next time. Good to know there is a simple option for a better trigger.

I can tolerate a too heavy pull better than one with little false breaks. After a lifetime of "Kitchen table smithin" I can recall numerous events with orbiting spring loaded gun parts, dropped small parts, pins, detent balls...... But this kit was straight up simple.

I shot my 327 Big Boy yesterday and I didn’t notice any issues with the trigger. I forgot to really give it a test but will do so next time.

Good info, especially about how "doable" it is.
I don't mind a little extra weight on trigger pull, especially with a hunting gun, so this is good to know.
