It's time for hunting. Hunt with a Henry and tell us about it.

Rifle sent back to Henry. We will see what happens
Any update on this? Have you heard anything from the factory or got your rifle back yet?
Mine (.357 BBS) just went out today and I'm curious what the timelines will be.

I had to send my X Model 357 mag back to Henry because it was jamming occasionally when cycling the lever. It was sent by UPS on June 16th and I've received confirmation that it is delivering to me today June26th so very quick turnaround!

Thanks for the response.
Interestingly enough, my rifle arrived back to me yesterday.
I'm looking forward to some nicer weather to get it out and see what it does for me now.

Any updates? I got an early .44 BBSC last year and thought it shot fine, but put a scope on it, took it to the range yesterday and it is atrocious. Wasted an entire box of hunting loads trying to get it close enough to hunt with, and walked away defeated and disgusted.

That’s some very nice shooting. Did you do that with open sights, or were optics used?
our Henry 44 mag has a 3X9 Nikon scope .... that combo really works well for us

I’m running a 1-4x M223 Nikon on mine. I love that scope! Would have been nice to find a 1-6x but that’s life.

I have a Leupold VX-5HD 3-15x44 scope on mine and at 100 yards it's ~ 1". As somebody said, it shoots better than I do.

How old is his rifle? Older barrels have a fast twist that won’t stabilize bullets heavier than 240 grain, a few years ago Henry went to the industry standard twist rate. Has he tried different ammo? How does the crown look? The rifling? Is the barrel clean?
Need more info please. 5 MOA accuracy is pretty bad…

A slower twist rate wont stabalize heavier bullets, a faster one does. Henry did use to use a 1:38 but did recently switch to the standard 1:20, thank goodness.
30 rounds, 50yds, open sights.
