I Love my straight stocked levers. In fact I won't buy a PG stocked rifle if it comes in a Straight Stock configuration. Only pistol griped one that I have is a New Marlin 1895 Trapper in 45/70.

Never gave the stock much thought. hunted with winny 94 and Marlin 336. length of pull is what's important . Wish Henry offered a youth stock like they do on the single shot rifles.

I broke my rt. wrist racing motocross in the mid-70s. Didn't have med insurance at the time, so I just let it go without doing anything to it. It doesn't have the flexibility/mobility that my left wrist has, plus recent x-rays had my Dr. puzzled about "When did this happen???", as it seems that it's essentially still broken.

I would love to upgrade my gun(s) to a more pistol grip style. Like Leverjc said, I personally have a bit better/easier trigger control with a PG style grip and my rt. wrist. I've considered getting something like a Brass or CCH 45-70 for that reason, plus I'd get an octagon barrel as well, which I really like. If one had been available anywhere in my locale at the time I was levergun shopping, I'd have bought it, but I simply took what was available at the time.

But to me, I do prefer the "more traditional look" of a straight stock........

I wish they also off a shorter LOP. I have to cut down every rifle I buy to a 12.5" LOP. I am only 5'5" tall and 14" LOP is like holding a 2x4 8' long to my shoulder. Only thing I hate about buying a new rifle.
