Henry Long Ranger 6.5 creedmoor feed issues
Hi all, I recently purchased a long ranger in 6.5 and have been loving the gun, but have noticed a problem with the magazine. It doesn't seem to sit correctly in the receiver which prevents the rounds from feeding properly. Has anyone else seen this problem and had a fix? Henry's response was just 'send it in and we'll see" so l'd like to try anything before that.

First step: try another mag to verify if it is actually a gun problem. You need to have a spare mag anyway, in case one gets damaged or lost.

first, welcome to our forum .... delighted to have you join our community .... with your belief that the magazine is the problem, recommendations to purchase another from Henry are sound .... if you do so and it does turn out to be the issue, a call to Henry with that info will most likely get you a free replacement .... that way you'll have two good ones

My Long Ranger in .243 had a very sticky magazine; wouldn't go in, nor come out without a lot of jiggling. The finish on it was a thick matte type.
I used some steel wool and burnished all four sides, and that helped a lot. I also got a second magazine, and it goes in easily. The two have slightly different measurements; the easy one is slightly smaller.
JE Bar's advice is solid.

Thank you everyone! I have ordered a new magazine to verify if it is a mag issue or gun issue, then I will be letting Henry know what I find out.
