Sorry I don’t have anything firearms related to post about. My life is currently focusing on owner improvements and the year I get major landscaping projects completed.

While the completed re-roofing allows the outdoor kitchen to be functional it is not fully completed. The fun part is still left which is go to junk dealers, antiques shops and garage sales to make functional more user friendly and create a visual comfortable feeling.

Note the target stabled to the right post and the backstop with bullet traps on the left. Just trying to make this more about shooting. I’ll post more about the new 36” griddle when I’ve used it more. I’ve made pancakes for myself about a dozen times however I’ve never cooked bacon and eggs on it. My general impression is that it is a hit.

very, very nice setting .... just curious, because in our area skeeters and a host of other bugs would have to be contended with

The lowlands here are fairly skeet free. Go up into the mountains and that is a different story. No my biggest concern is bear. It is common to have a bear on my property a few times a year. There was a momma and three cubs in the neighborhood last summer and a neighborhood text going on bear sightings. Most days there were several reports of sightings.

Love the colorful decorating, Gene. Visually very interesting. If you have bears, how do you deal with them? We have to be very careful about not leaving anything they might eat in the yard. We have dogs and that tends to keep them away, too.

Ill take 2 eggs over easy with bacon and pancakes. I prefer real maple syrup but if I gotta take Mrs Butterworths I will use it. Can I shoot my pellet rifle while eating?

People have learned not to leave food out. I don’t think the bears associate people with food like in campgrounds. Dogs here are also usually the first alarm.

Thanks Dave, it’s been a labor of love.

I had two metal cupboards in the garage that wasn’t critical there so I moved them to the kitchen. They are dented, scratched and rusted but cleaned up pretty good. Next summer I might rattle can paint them.

I found this griddle cover (on the left) today at Value Village. I was looking for one because Blackstone is out of them. What is great about it other than the $2.99 price is that it’s a Revere Ware and made in the USA. Not only that but most of my pots and lids are Revere (on the right).

Then I stopped at Target and found a Lodge burger press which is also made in the USA. The Henry coffee cup is my everyday cup and we all know where it’s made. I’m still looking for plates.

Eat some left over candy while I finish my first cup of coffee. Raining this morning.

In the meantime I’m trying to figure out when that lid was made.

As a diversion from the news I’m posting about my pots and pans. This is a double ring which means it was made before 1968. You can’t read it in the picture but this one is a patent pending which means it was made before 1939. The next two are Clinton, ILL so they are before 1977 but no double rings so after 1968. A non copper bottom made in Clinton. West Bend makes a far superior teapot. This is the griddle lid I just bought. It looks fairly new and lids are almost impossible to date. Older aged lids. The later handles had screws and not rivets like the bottom handle. This particular one is still pre-68. New handles and screws are still available. If you see one like this with a screw it has been replaced as rivets were never available after it left the factory. Some of these I’ve owned since the 70’s and some I’ve picked up at garage sales and junk stores. Kind of an odd hobby but it beats watching the news.

I had to refresh what I knew about the handles. Rivets came after screws not before like I was thinking.
