Very Strange

The bear that visited our yard 2 to 3 weeks ago left 2 piles of solid waste in the yard. This is not un-common, as it has happened before.
What is very strange is what has become of it. I know they visit bird feeders and such around the neighborhood which as we all know, consist of many types of seeds and things. This did not happen the last time we were left with a pile and it has been very hot and dry.
Any thoughts??...must make great fertilizer :D

What puzzles me is if this is from sunflower (black oil), how a bear with those big paws could manage to eat them. Maybe knocked a feeder over and sucked them up?

You may have already solved the mystery Mags.
We'll see if anyone else has any thoughts.

Look like sunflower sprouts to me.
I get them from the Scrub Jays hiding them all over the yard for the winter.

I have since done a little research online and yes, they do look like sunflower seedlings.
It's just the delivery of them that is a bit odd... ;)
Thanks for your input guys!!

Maybe there is a market for 'bear poop sunflowers'

Instead of "Cat Scratch Fever," you'll have "Bear Scat Flowers"!

Great band name, now that I think about it!

Either way, it's the gift that keeps on giving, so make the best of it.

Tina pointed out it's no different than the lines of vegetation you see down farm fence lines. That appears from the birds sitting on the fences for years chatting among themselves, and...
