meet Xena the Warrior Princess Shih Tzu .... she was a surprise (make that a SURPRISE) Mother's Day/birthday gift from our daughter .... over the years we've had several dogs but she is our first inside dog .... she is 3 months old and weighs just under a pound and a half .... so far she's gone with us to our grandchildren's soccer matches and coach pitch baseball games ... to say that she's been a hit would be a major understatement .... she seems to be adjusting well but the saga is just beginning .... her first camping trip will be this coming weekend when (naturally) they are forecasting rain

for anyone who may be interested in more info on her breed ===> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shih_Tzu

Who gets to get up at 2am and let her out to go to the bathroom. I know who does it most of the time when we are in the 5er.Congrats to Maureen

she's Maureen's dog .... as such I'm playing a supporting role .... her first two nights have gone very differently .... we decided to train her to sleep in a crate .... the first night, she whined and complained most all night .... sometime during the night she did wet .... last night, she resisted going into the crate but one there didn't whimper, nor did pee or poop .... she took care of both rather quickly after Maureen took her out this morning .... as noted, she's our first inside dog .... both us and she have a good bit of learning on tap

They are a commitment for sure especially when ours at home have a dog door for going in and out. When in the 5er adjustments are made on both sides. But for me the love they return is all worth it as thats all they know.

trimmed the long, thick hair around her eyes so she can see better
