Company for the Milk Cow

Post by BrokenolMarine » Mon Feb 20, 2023 8:59 pm

I posted a month or so ago that Miss T sold the other four cows and we were down to the milker. Miss Molly has been moping around looking for the little calf and his mom. She misses her friends. Miss T had looked for another calf to keep Molly company, but specifically a heifer calf that she could breed every other year or so. They are really expensive right now... so she decided to wait. Meanwhile the milker mopes and looks all sad eyed.

My daughter in Devol said we should come pick up the Donkey she has, he and Miss Molly were pals. So, Sunday we drove down and picked up Lobo. We'll call him Donkeh. (Spoken with Shrek's Scottish accent.) :D

They ran around the 20 acres jumping and bucking, playing and having a great time together. He loves his new home, doesn't have all those horses giving him grief, and room to roam. Molly has company again.

Say hello to Donkeh.

He's eight, about the size of a shetland pony, and won't get any bigger. ;)

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

Herd animals need their herds even if it's only a herd of 2. Leia goat was pretty sad when we lost her brother, she's doubly happy since we got Buster, now she has a companion and since she's a little bigger and still has her horns she gets to be the boss.
