I’ve been so busy with projects I haven’t really been shooting very much and when I do I’m terrible. If I shoot everyday I get decent however if I go a couple of weeks my accuracy drops something fierce.

General maintenance isn’t too bad it’s all the extra projects that eats up the time. I finally applied for my Wisconsin drivers license and that ate up half a day and that was just part of it. I had to send for my birth certificate and had to get my application for the birth certificate notarized. At least I didn’t have to take a test.

My grass is a foot high but I shoot lots.

A well mowed yard is highly overrated. Pow!

Gene, we've been very busy with some unexpected family issues, so no shooting for us, lately, either.

DsGrouse...you need to smoke cigars. Best anti critter stuff I ever found. Lol

My grass was almost that high and I haven’t shot much because of all the other things like digging my RV out of the mud that turned to concrete, leveling a load of gravel down by the road, and dozens of other projects.

It seems my summer is going to be spent preparing for winter. I do get to enjoy the beauty of where I live.

All kidding aside, prepping for winter starts in the summer here too. There is a long list of things that need to happen to make winter go smoothly. Miss any 1 of them and in January I'll wish I hadn't.

I need to prepare for plowing the road and have my range setup so I can shoot in the winter. All the time I should be shooting is spent working on the range and berm.

That, spending all summer getting ready for winter is why my dad moved to Florida in 1952. You have a wonderful home and winter does have it's good points but I think that I will stay where the winters are mild.

The county I live in has 8 people per square mile. I think mainly because of the harsh winters. I prefer the cold over people.

You’re “enjoying” the first year stuff that has to be done but it will get better. We carved our place out of undeveloped property and I’m just now (six years later) starting to feel like I’m just doing maintenance vs devolvement. Your pictures show that you have accomplished quite a bit in the short time you have had available to you, particularly with the late spring you had.

I’m getting far more tractor seat time than trigger. I’m halfway done digging out the side slope for a turn around. Next will be to spread gravel. I’m also adding a parking spot at the bottom of the driveway near the county road. I parked my lawn mower at a near level spot on the hill. I’m looking at a 1949 Allison Chambers tractor that I might buy as lawn art. It’s a lot bigger than the mower and will be more visible from the road.

Well farmer Gene, I know you're having fun. The work you're doing will pay off, as you well know. Looks beautiful there my friend.

The fire department requires all houses to have an regulation address sign.

That’s a good thing but yours has class. Mine is a white composite post similar to a highway mile marker with red numbers on it. The fire district provides and installs them for a $20 donation which is money well spent. Not near as attractive as yours is.
