Wisconsin Aerial is a PBS program with hours of aerial drone videos. I’ve been watching it in the background as I continue to unpack. There is so much to learn about my new home state.

Re: Home Sweet Wisconsin
I just spoke with a long time area resident and she gave me a ton of information on the area and this house. Her son lived in it for 15 years and then she lived in it for 10 years and was the person that did the design while her husband did the work. They are my nearest neighbors.
This house was the first framed house in the area. Homes up till the turn of the century were log. The house visible from my front window was a log home built after this house and was where my neighbor grew up. She attended the single room school and was later the teacher.
The land around me is owned by another long time resident and most likely can be purchased. The school is owned by my neighbor’s son and her childhood home is owned by her daughter.
If I mention I live in the red house most people know of it.
Sometimes it takes the county grader to plow the driveway. Especially when the wind blows and the drifts are five feet deep. I’m told to be prepared to be snowed in for a week or longer.

LOL, I still think you're gonna love it! I truly think you made the right choice. Even though I dislike winter, I am envious of your new place!Sir Henry wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 9:25 pmI’m told there are only two seasons here -ice age and global warming.markiver54 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 9:13 pmIt all sounds great Gene! No way in Hell I'd live that far north. And the older I get the more I dislike the cold.

Got that right!!
I always said, when I lived in Southern California, that I had no problem putting Christmas lights on a Palm Tree.
