Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I’m sure I can find some junk to trash the place up.

It’s really a modest home with few upgrades. What it doesn’t have is someone right next door and has a somewhat regular boundary. Too many 20 acre plots have houses too close together and then deep parcels that are unusable for my needs.

It is in the center of Wisconsin and would make a good base camp. But first my home needs to close.

I wanted to live in the middle of Wisconsin and Medford seems to be close.

You can see the roads crisscross and Medford is close to the edge where there is a continuous straight road and then more remote areas with no roads.

If you zoom in closer you will not see anymore roads. The blue house marker is about 4.5 miles drive to town. As you go further north the roads are a couple miles apart.

Some of the listings are deceitful. This home is on 5 acres.

Then you learn this is what 5 acres really looks like and there will be 8 houses on what you thought was 5.

How did people do this before the internet? The satellite views have given me so much information. I know where I can get gas, buy groceries or a latte and I’ve never set foot in the county.

Just looked at the pics and the owners sure have put a lot of work into the landscaping. All the trees are nicely limbed up and all that lawn is beautiful. A nice fire break should there ever be a wildfire in the area. House is very nice too and that garage………WOW!

Compared to some of the properties this one is plain. A couple of the hunting log cabins are massive. So much so that it becomes who you are. This modest home will not be who I am other than the junk I surround it. But that is art. Maybe bad art but it’s art all the same.

I want a fresh canvas say about ten acres.

Gene, that Medford home looks nice. The carpet needs to go but at the price, adding hardwood would be easy to afford.

There is a nice balance of wood and carpet. Tastefully done I might add. Wood is certainly "trendy" right now, however, to each their own.
