Well when I looked at this it looks ok and has a big out building. I know your property taxes in Wash are high. But at the price of this house the taxes are really high. 616.00 a month 7300.00 per year on a house that is selling for less than 400K. I think that is a little stiff.

I don’t think the chart is accurate. I know it’s not for my home. What they are not accounting for is special taxes such as schools and fire department and other things. My taxes are more than $10,000 a year on a house they value at less than a million.

Gene, too much carpet. Not crazy about the step up to the living room and why are they selling it after just 5 months of ownership?

Too much carpet is good because I would rip it out and put in No 1 Common White Oak. If it was already hardwood or more likely plastic it would not be as feasible.

I did not notice the five months. This is one of the reasons I post.

Gene I Google up the Property tax subject for Wisconsin when I saw that. Eight highest in the nation is what I saw.

While the percentage is higher the actual amount I would pay is less. I’m looking at property tax, sales tax and state income tax and I would be paying less in Wisconsin.

Let’s compare two homes of same quality and size.
Woodinville $1,000,000 and tax of $9,300
Wisconsin $400,000 and tax of $7,640

Sales tax is more than 10% here and none of my income is taxable in Wisconsin.

In Montana the real estate taxes would also be more. Too many people moving to Montana for my liking.

Good point, Gene. When I was researching a place to retire, I was very thorough in examining the data. Locations with high growth rates had higher cost of living issues, increases in the crime rate and often an unstable local economy with boom and bust cycles.

I want to stay away from states getting or loosing seats. I wonder how many of the people moving are Republicans and Democrats?

Understood on comparing it to where you are now. Im comparing it to my house which is worth 400K and my property taxes are 1500.00 a year
