Firewood done for the year

I’m done for the year with my firewood preps. Other than enjoying a nice warm fire that is. A neighbor had several trees cut down and gave me the wood. I’m thinking I’m good for three seasons with what I was given.

Split and in the woodshed for winter 26-27.

I do. It’s free and I keep my fires hot. Plus clean the stovepipe every year. Last year I had a bunch of fir and sure enjoyed that.

I wish I had that opportunity. As you know Sir Henry, this area is mostly pine, fir and larch. With a little birch, cedar and aspen scattered here and there.

Although in my opinion September is the best month of the year it is indeed getting to that time of year to consider firewood. I DON’T WANT TO!

I need to get busy cutting some, but it's still blame 90+ degrees. Maybe by the end of the month it will cool down and I can get busy. I have a few downed oaks and one hickory to cut. I have about a half a cord left from this past winter.
