Near Selling My Home
I’m about five days away from selling my property here in Washington. It will take 30-45 days for it to close. In the meantime I’m continuing my search in both Montana and Wisconsin.
Selling and buying has been my life for about four months and I’m ready to move on. Literally.

Re: Near Selling My Home
Know the feeling. Our selling realtor was a really nice guy, but we got tired of his suggestions rather quickly. Don't get me wrong, most were very constructive, we just got tired of nitpicky.
On the other hand, after I gave him the driving tour of the farm, and a tour of the house and shop; he said he was going to break his ironclad rule: no seller present when showing a property.
We showed the house five times, it sold.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

You will know it when you find it. To be free and clear of the other home first is a pretty good thing. It puts you ahead of many others.
Good luck where ever you end up.

Woohoo, the two best days of your life will be when the escrow paperwork clears, and when you cross over the mountains out of Puget Sound. I did that in 2004, I still go back routinely to visit my son, but I won’t go there for any other reason. No regrets…. that place is a zoo. No offense meant to those who choose to live there…..

Re: Near Selling My Home
When we sold our last house, we banked the proceeds, then lived in a duplex for six months - I got this text alert from my bank after that money went towards the new house:
I hope your move is not too stressful. Are you doing the heavy lifting or are you hiring somebody? I strongly suggest doing all the boxing, then hire some young strong dudes to shift it all. There is a locally owned company I use for that, they even moved my big gun safe, I would not even consider a nationwide chain like United. I am sure you know this, all the firearms and expensive stuff like cameras should go with you.

I will be doing most of the heavy lifting. Over the decades I’ve learned to use lots of leverage. The agent where I’m going is aware I might need help unloading. That is my biggest concern.John E Davies wrote: ↑Sun Oct 03, 2021 1:30 pmWhen we sold our last house, we banked the proceeds, then lived in a duplex for six months - I got this text alert from my bank after that money went towards the new house:

I may buy a big van like what Amazon uses. Then I may keep the van or sell it. Picking junk in Wisconsin sounds like a good plan. Bigger acreage requires bigger lawn art which requires a bigger van.
Yes lots of stress but lots of dreams too. I could easily see me touring the state in a big van pulling my teardrop, filling it with junk and then heading home.
