Gun cabinet in red oak

Post by PJM » Fri Jan 10, 2020 11:10 am

Built this in the late 80's. Should have made it bigger as it isn't big enough for all my stuff now. Time for a bigger safe. The big good ones are really heavy. My daughter has a safe it took four big guys to move in on a dolly and a 2 wheeler.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Red oak has beautiful grain, kind of a very hard wood if I remember. We used to burn it in the furnace on the farm, it held a lot of BTU's too. Nice craftsmanship on the cabinet. I put a small light strip in the top of mine, makes me smile when I see the reflection off the blued barrels. I always thought time spent making saw dust adds time to your life....I miss it too.
